Yesterday was a balmy -17 degrees here in the city. The day before? -14 and wind chills into the -30's. My car wont start and we had a pipe burst in our kitchen yesterday while our land lady was on her knees double fisting hairdryers. Polar bears would be cursing Mother Nature if they lived in the mid-West right now.
Now I promise I won't always talk about the weather, it's just unavoidable and dictating everyone's lives at the moment. On a lighter note here are some random things, facts, habits, etc. about myself.

Snowflakes
Chicago is buried in snow. This past weekend we got at least 8 inches of snow in my area. The city streets are suffering this winter, they are pothole ridden and there is a massive salt shortage, they have also drastically decreased the amount of plowing on side streets on the weekends. The snow has made for some interesting commutes to and from work. On a normal day depending on the route I take and the amount of traffic it can take me from 30 minutes to an hour to get to work. In the midst of a massive snowfall in December many people, myself included, spent over three hours in the car if not more getting home from work one evening. Lucky for me Chicago has an abundance of entertaining radio stations that I flipped through continuously to create my very own 'stuck in the car' soundtrack. Let's just say I'm looking forward to spring!
