Phase Two, Step One

Well, the move was a success. Mom, Dad and Dustin came last weekend and helped Allison and I move the remaining boxes and furniture to our new place. Dustin, being the moving expert packed the truck up nicely and we made the move in just two trips. We still have a lease at our old place until April 1st so after they left I was still around and sat in my empty room. Two and a half years is a long time. It is the only home I've ever known in Chicago, it's the second longest I've ever lived anywhere other than my family's home. It is from that center point that I've branched out to everywhere else I've come to know in the city. It's a difficult tie to break. It's that feeling, and I've had it before about other things, it's wanting to love something, perhaps even feeling like you should or that eventually you would but just feeling like you can't find that connection that pulls on the heart strings, ya know? On the up side, our place is cute and my commute to work is about 20 minutes shorter. Not to mention it's only been 4 days... I'll post some pictures once the boxes are gone and the plants have all found a home.

Watch me!

Music makes me geek out sometimes. Especially when it's the Chili Peppers. So this blog will also be random moments of me being a total music nerd, like right now. Found this version of "Soul To Squeeze" last night on YouTube. It's amazing!

Boxes in the hall and holes in the wall...

After two and a half years my three roommates and I are moving out of our beautiful Bucktown apartment. While it is exciting to be starting fresh so to speak, leaving the only place I've known as home in Chicago since I moved her is going to be interesting. The four of us are branching out and I will be living with one other girl about 15 minutes or 5 miles north of where we are now (think slightly west and just over 2 miles north of Wrigley Field). Shortly after we move in I'll be sure to post some pictures of the new place.

In other news, my boss is about to have her baby. She worked from home all of last week so I'm transitioning into my new role, and my new digs, as she has me sitting at her desk while she is away. It is going to be three months of making deadlines and waiting for summer to get here... wish me luck!
