Phase Two, Step One

Well, the move was a success. Mom, Dad and Dustin came last weekend and helped Allison and I move the remaining boxes and furniture to our new place. Dustin, being the moving expert packed the truck up nicely and we made the move in just two trips. We still have a lease at our old place until April 1st so after they left I was still around and sat in my empty room. Two and a half years is a long time. It is the only home I've ever known in Chicago, it's the second longest I've ever lived anywhere other than my family's home. It is from that center point that I've branched out to everywhere else I've come to know in the city. It's a difficult tie to break. It's that feeling, and I've had it before about other things, it's wanting to love something, perhaps even feeling like you should or that eventually you would but just feeling like you can't find that connection that pulls on the heart strings, ya know? On the up side, our place is cute and my commute to work is about 20 minutes shorter. Not to mention it's only been 4 days... I'll post some pictures once the boxes are gone and the plants have all found a home.

  1. You totally have to write your name in a closet or on a door or something. Let the world know you were there.
